Don't Retire, Start a Micro Business

Retirem ent today is either something that people welcome, or dread. In the UK, the age to qualify for your pension seems to move further away with successive govenments. Similar numbers are likely in the UK For those who have no intention of retiring, it is using their business in a dffeent way: a micro business can ensure you have a comfortable retirem ent. If anyone is thinking of winding down his working lives, or that want to make a change, he is to start a new micro business now. Developing this enterprise over the next few years could lead to a healthy second income that could replace the money you will have available if you do fully retire. This is the approach many over 60s are taking as they often top surveys of new business owners. Indeed, the concept of the 'older entrepreneur' is fast becoming the nom, outstipping the often-quoted Mllennial group, as the most entrepreneurial.

第5题

It was reported in the press some time ago that a few second- and third-year students in a provincial university decided to try their hand at business in order to get prepared for the future. They opened six small shops near their university. Their teachers and classmates had different opinions about this phenomenon. Some thought that the students' business experience would help them adapt better to society after graduation, while others held a negative view, saying that running shops might occupy too much of the students' time and energy which should otherwise be devoted to their academic study. What do you think? Write a composition of about 300 words on the following topic:

Should University Students Go in for Business?

第10题

Many years ago, children wore clothes that were the same as the clothes worn by adults, except that

they were smaller. People believed that children were just “small adults”, and expected them to dress and act like adults.

But now people know much more about children. In both body and mind, children are different from adults because they are at a different stage of development. As far as the body is concerned, it is obvious. A baby of six months can sit up, but can not run, and so on. But the development of the mind is not so obvious. A small child, for example, does not understand the difference between the present and the fu ture. So if the child asks for an apple and the parent says,“ No, not now, you can have one after lunch." The child often cries. Some mothers think the child is being difficult, but perhaps he is just being differ ent; he does not understand the idea of the future, and for him ”not now means “never”. So naturally, the child cries.

People used to believe that ______.

A.children should wear adults'

B.children were the same as adults, except that they were smaller
